I'm still hoping to read it. I know that some people loved it, and I know some who thought it was terrible. You're probably the first person I've run in to who thought it was just okay and didn't love or hate it. I have tried to start a few Beverly Lewis books, but I just can't seem to get into them. I'm not sure what it is that I don't like. I just find that they take too long to get me, and I like to have a book where I'm interested if not hooked early on. I'm going to list a few more books on my blog today actually. If you're interested, I'm mostly looking to get rid of books, but any trades would be a bonus. :) C I haven’t read the Shack yet. I'm reading it now. I was thinking of passing it on to my mom though. I'm actually not that thrilled with it. It's a bit too hokey for me. I love the way God's love is described and how Mack learns to love and forgive but the whole Papa, Jesus, Sarayu thing is a bit much. May I ask why you don't like Beverly Lewis' books? Have you read any of them? My mom and I swap them and I think they are some of the best christian (w/romance) books out there since it's not overly done and there are always underlying issues that are touched on in each book. They are not cookie cutter books either. I love Nicholas Sparks books but they are too "cookie cutter-ish"--same story, different setting/characters/time. If you have any other books to swap in the future, I would be interested. I have a very broad range of reading interests. Christian, crime, mystery (Agatha Christie being an all-time fave), non-fiction, historical fiction. I'll try to list a few of my books that are available on my blog in the next week and let you know. Thanks! Have you found anyone with The Shack yet? I’m reading it now.
