That's a great idea, to have a number of someone to call. Maybe it would be good to bring the number of the local LLL leader, too, even if you haven't been going to meetings. I know that after we had problems with the nurse in the hospital who was counseling us badly about breastfeeding, my midwife who is a lactation consultant asked why on earth we hadn't called her for advice or to step in. It was kind of an oh-duh moment, but at the time we forgot that we had that resource in our corner, so being prepared and expectant is key. Those early newborn days are so overwhelming and exhausting, you could easily forget otherwise.

It's too bad that the LC with your second child brushed you off like that instead of working with the latch. That sounded really frustrating. I'm glad you were so committed to continuing with both kids that you worked through the problems, despite the lack of support. And cool that you're still nursing your first! Mine is 2.5 and still nursing, too.

Your first baby sounds very similar to mine!

(Not a big deal, but if you could list me as "Whozat" in the links, rather than my real name, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!)
