Nursing Update

November11

Lately I’ve been thinking that I need to spend more time writing about nursing, tandem nursing, extended nursing, and other thoughts on those topics. This is a breastfeeding blog, right? I just seem to have a writer’s block in that area though. I told Jason tonight, the reason that it is harder for me to write about nursing now is that it just is. What do I mean by that? Both K and A are nursing regularly. They’re both nursing well. They are both able to get what they need, and I am able to feel like my boundaries and needs are respected. I don’t feel like I have any angst to share with you about this!

I suppose that could be a topic in itself, right? Tandem nursing for almost 16 months, and nursing for 36 months straight, and happy with my choice and how things are going. (Terrible grammar and sentence structure there) So, it’s likely that I will be spending less time writing about nursing and other nursing issues for the time being. Maybe if Baby #3 rolls around at some point (in the distant future), I will have more to say about it again.
Until then, how about a picture of K tandem nursing Baby Ellie and Mr. Monkey

    So cute! He is adorable!

PS…any ideas for a baby that *refuses* the bottle from anyone but me? She will take it just fine from me but if Pete gives it to her she starts screaming. Even if I am right there…as soon as she is in his arms she is *done*. She loves him otherwise, just not when he is trying to feed her. Makes it impossible to leave for more than an hour or so at a time.…

I think just saying that you’re happy with both boys still nursing is great testimony! So many people question extended nursing and especially tandem extended nursing. Just knowing that ONE mom is good with it speaks volumes!

Love the picture too! Way cute!

Lol. That picture is just awesome. :)

I have not read your whole blog (so I don’t know if you ever addressed this)- but I do have nursing questions. My first lil guy just refused. He was losing weight and not eating even with the correct application and usage of a SNS. I was really disappointed, but eventually came to the conclusion that for us it would be better to bond over the bottle then fight over the breast.

Any idea if the next one will nurse? I’m due in February and praying that he will! I’ve meet with a lactation consultant, read the articles and googled it more than I thought possible. lol. Any info or hints are appreciated!

    Thanks :)
