TV Died">Our TV Died
Last night, Jason tried to turn the tv on, and nothing happened. It died. Unfortunately, it happened just in time for all the new season premiers and right before winter (and lots of inside time). It couldn’t have happened during the summer when there was nothing on, huh?
K is pretty sure that Grandpa will know how to fix it when he comes for a visit this weekend, but I’m not so sure.
When Jason and I talked about it, we decided that we were going to try to take advantage of this time. I want to read more, sew a little, and organize! I know several families that either don’t have tvs or watch very little. I’m excited to see how my quality of life will change without the tv as an option.
When I moved back into Dad’s house was the first time in years that I had a TV (cable) and I actually prefer no TV. Sure there are shows that I like to watch but without TV I read a lot more and did more stuff around the house. Good luck!
We gave up cable years back for budget reasons and just never started it back. Once it was gone we realized that it was an addiction for us both and while much of what we watched was good stuff (History Channel [for real!]) we just didn’t need it and liked having more time to do other things.
Now with iTunes we can buy episodes of things we really want to watch.
But, I don’t know if we could have done it if we had children. Which is funny because it is probably even more important to try no tv with children.
Good luck!
BTW — I love your theme!
