Hi, and welcome to the Beautiful Letdown breastfeeding blog. My name is Casey, and I am passionate about breastfeeding. I can’t say for sure at what point in my life, that statement became true for me. When I was pregnant with my first child, I knew that I would try to breastfeed, but I wasn’t sure how long I would want to breastfeed. Well, after overcoming a sleepy baby, flat nipples, using a nipple shield, and a baby who had no rooting or swallowing reflex, I was hooked. I knew by the time my son was 6 weeks old that my goal would be to breastfeed for a year. By the time he was 3 months old, my goal was to let him self-wean. Now, he’s 14 1/2 months old, and my baby isn’t a baby anymore but a toddler, we are still nursing 4-5 times a day.
